After a nine year restoration, this Roman military helmet "is changing what we normally think is happening in the Roman conquest" says Dr. Jeremy Hill from the Hallaton Museum. It had been thought that the Roman conquest of Britain (ca 43,44,45 AD) had been between the Romans and the peoples of Britain. This helmet suggest that Celtic tribes may have fought with the Romans.
This helmet will go on display at the Hallaton Museum.
