It's hard to imagine that the Thomas Kincade firm needs financial shelter from its creditors. Having been one of the most well-known commercial artists over the past twenty years with some 350 galleries nationwide selling his "light" paintings and even more stores selling his gift merchandise, Thomas Kincade was a household name. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, his company filed for bankruptcy one day after neglecting to pay a $1 million settlement to two gallery owners who had otained a court ruling ordering repayment for damages.
I just shake my head in disbelief that an artist's work which was perhaps the most well known of any American artist to the masses over the past few decades has fallen onto hard times. All I can say is...shame, shame, shame on your business principles. To have squandered such a gift is shameful.
